Remote Sensing at Upper Nasoni
Archaeologists from Archaeo-Geophysical Associates, LLC conducted a geophysical survey at several sites west of Texarkana, TX along the Red River for Lopez Garcia Group as part of the Bowie County Levee Re-Alignment Project.

This area is believed to be depicted in the well known map from the Teran expedition of the early 1690’s depicting a Caddo community of the Upper Nasoni.  For more information see:

Results from the Hill Farm Site (41BW169), which is directly to the southeast of the Hatchel Site and the Horace Cabe Site (41BW14), a multi-mound site to the east of the Hatchel Mound are briefly presented here.  Both of these data sets are included in the forth-coming report by Lopez Garcia Group as well as individual journal articles.  Links to sources will be added when these publications are complete.
